What then happened took me by surprise and a Soul Biography seemed appropriate.

A chance encounter with a city gent wearing a pin striped suit, bowler hat & carrying a rolled umbrella might have gone unnoticed. If she’d been blind to the subtlety of life.
My time with Alison had led me to wonder if we all have a part to play in the life of another.
This film is sitting in two places. Part in my imagination and part in editing. It should be up & screening this summer. Early summer I hope.
I met a fisherman. Cast in the same mold as the fisherman in the ‘Legend of the Mexican Fisherman‘. My camera & my imagination caught sight of something extraordinary.
The film is about the simplicity of life. And an ability to keep it in focus. Shot on the pacific coast of Guatemala. More soon.
‘lighter, or darker’ opened the GATE Conference (Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment) in LA at Fox Studios on Thursday 4th June 2009.
Under 3 minutes, screened to 500+ influential players in the media & entertainment industry, who are keen to explore how they can change the very nature of media & entertainment output. Other ‘acts’ on the bill included Jim Carrey, Melissa Etheridge, Eckhart Tolle and even Donovan.

My challenge was to create a film that would approach the core of the issue, without engaging the mind (as the ‘mind’s significance’ is perhaps where media & entertainment started to go awry).
And to do this in just a few minutes.

A man lived perpetually in the summer time of his own life.
He lit up the world that surrounded him. Unannounced. And unintentional.
Some who met him would wonder where the light came from.
And of those who wondered, some would realise that it had nothing to do with the outward circumstances of his life.
And of those who realised, some would recognise that the very same light waited for the chance to shine from deep inside themselves.
And for the brave who’d let it shine. It would.
